West Africa 2007: A sabbatical trip through West Africa
(Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, Ghana, Togo, Guinea-Bissau, The Gambia, Mali)
By 2007 West Africa was one of the few major geographic regions of the planet that we'd not yet visited. Coupling that fact with Kevin's rapidly accruing sabbatical time lead to the logical conclusion that it was time. Kevin took the opportunity of a meeting in Morocco to overland down the coast to Senegal. He then spent the better part of November at two universities in Ghana, where the girls met him for a month-long exploration of West Africa culminating in Timbuktu.
