For
our first trip abroad we'd planned a month-long overland trip from Athens, through
Turkey, Syria,
Jordan and Israel to Cairo and down the Nile. Alas, that plan was not
to be: a few weeks before we were to fly to Athens Iraq
invaded Kuwait and Jordan filled both with anti-American
riots and 100,000 Egyptians trying to get on the same boat we planned on sailing.
A hasty remake of our plans lead us instead to the trip
documented below: From Athens, through the islands to
Crete and Cyprus, on to Israel and into Egypt and the Nile via the Sinai.
Still haven't made it to Syria and Jordan....
